Russian passenger plane to Crimea forced to make emergency landing

According to Russian media, on August 15, a passenger plane of this country had to make an emergency landing in the suburbs of Moscow shortly after takeoff because a bird got into the engine.

The Ural Airlines Airbus 321, carrying 234 passengers and crew, was flying from Moscow to the city of Simferopol on the Crimean island.

The plane had to make an emergency landing in a field near Zhukovsky International Airport, southeast of Moscow, RIA news agency reported, citing a statement from the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations. All passengers and crew were safe.

The plane made an emergency landing in a field 1km from the runway, TASS news agency quoted Ural Airlines CEO Sergei Skuratov as saying. TASS news agency quoted medical authorities as saying more than 20 people suffered minor injuries.

Meanwhile, on Twitter, Ural Airlines said no one was injured when flight U6178 was forced to make an emergency landing./.
