Planes, trains, and buses increase trips during Tet

During the 2018 Lunar New Year, passenger cars and airlines both increased thousands of trips to serve passengers.

Hanoi Bus Station Joint Stock Company has just released a plan to serve the Lunar New Year. This unit will increase 1,000 buses to the stations to serve the travel needs of passengers.

Mr. Nguyen Anh Toan, Director of Hanoi Bus Station Joint Stock Company, said that according to calculations, it is expected that during the New Year and Lunar New Year, people's travel demand will increase by an average of 20-40% compared to normal days.

There will be 2 peak periods when people's travel demand increases dramatically. Phase 1 is on Friday afternoon (December 29, 2017) and Saturday morning (December 30, 2017). Phase 2 is from the afternoon of February 7, 2018 to February 15, 2018 (ie from December 22 to 30, Dinh Dau year) and 10 days after Tet for long routes.

At Giap Bat bus station, it is estimated that there will be more than 1,100 departures per day during the Lunar New Year, an increase of more than 100% compared to normal days. Meanwhile, at My Dinh bus station, there are more than 1,200 departures per day. Mainly on the routes of Dien Bien, Lai Chau, Son La, Lao Cai, Quang Ninh...

Gia Lam bus station will have about 900 departures every day.

During the upcoming Lunar New Year, the railway industry will run 15 pairs of trains per day on the North-South route. The Hanoi Railway Company will put four newly built trains into operation.

Meanwhile, since October, Saigon Railway Station has organized the sale of 300,000 train tickets for Tet, an increase of 10,000 tickets compared to last year.

Before Tet, Saigon Railway Station will sell 130,000 tickets, the rest after Tet. Train running time for Tet is calculated from February 2 to March 4, 2018.

Airlines have also just announced plans to increase flights to serve passengers during the 2018 Lunar New Year.

Accordingly, from January 31 to March 2, 2018 (ie from December 15 to January 15 of the Lunar calendar), Vietnam Airlines will add more than 1,100 flights, equivalent to nearly 220,000 seats. Bringing the total number of seats provided on the entire domestic flight network during the peak period of Lunar New Year to nearly 1.5 million seats.

During some peak days (from February 9 to February 14, 2018 and from February 20 to February 26, 2018), Vietnam Airlines will add about 115 to more than 160 flights at night (departing from after midnight the previous night to 5:55 the next morning), 3 times more than usual.

Jetstar Pacific Airlines also opened for sale nearly 550,000 seats to serve the increased demand of passengers during this period.

Representatives of two major airlines confirmed that they will continue to maintain many flexible prices to best meet passengers' travel needs.
