Pregnant woman Vo Thi Van was 41 weeks pregnant, giving birth to her second child. The pregnancy was normal. At about 11:40 a.m. on March 8, the pregnant woman was admitted to the hospital, in normal condition, with vaginal bleeding. The pregnant woman was monitored by the on-duty team in labor, waiting to give birth at the Obstetrics Department, Dien Chau District General Hospital.
At 8:55 p.m., the pregnant woman suddenly lay sprawled on the left side of the bed, then suddenly complained of pain, dizziness, and restlessness. Blood pressure was difficult to measure, pulse was fast and weak; skin was pale, fetal heartbeat was difficult to hear, and uterine contractions were not felt. 5 minutes later, the pregnant woman complained of dizziness and lightheadedness. The doctors diagnosed the pregnant woman with severe shock and uterine rupture with a very grim prognosis. After a professional consultation with the entire hospital, the doctors decided to perform both resuscitation and emergency surgery...
However, at 9:48 p.m., the mother and child died. Initial diagnosis was that the mother and child died due to “hemorrhagic shock due to uterine rupture during labor.”
After the mother died, the family cooperated with the hospital in handling the patient's death, and at the same time asked the hospital to clarify the cause and responsibility.

The viewpoint of the health sector is to strictly handle any violations of expertise or medical ethics. We absolutely do not cover up violations. We hope that people understand and share with the health sector," said the Deputy Director of Nghe An Department of Health.
