Apply ice packs.
The moment you bump your head against the edge of a table and feel a sharp pain, you know for sure that a blue, purple, or black bruise will appear within 1-2 days.
Don't wait to see if the bruise appears, because by then it might be too late. Apply an ice pack directly to the affected area, or use the blue liquid-filled cold packs available at pharmacies, freeze them for a few hours, and then apply them to the injury (these are easier to use and leak less than ice packs, are equally effective, but are, of course, more expensive).
Roll the egg
Chicken eggs are very effective in dissolving bruises. The surface of the egg has tiny pores – very small tubes leading to the yolk. When used, they are usually boiled before being rolled on the bruise, so the egg still retains a considerable amount of heat.
Therefore, it will create suction pressure within the gold. By persistently applying this method, the bruise will disappear quickly.
Apply ice to the injured area for about 15 minutes, remove it for 15 minutes, and reapply for 15 minutes… continue this for several hours immediately after the injury. According to Dr. Hugh M. (Aspen Hospital Ambulance, Colorado), ice constricts the capillaries leading to the wound, reducing blood flow to the area.
Bruises form when blood clots around an injury. The less blood reaches the injury, the smaller the bruise will be. Additionally, cold temperatures can numb the wound, reducing pain.
Heat it up the next day.
After applying ice to the bruise, you can rest assured that the bruise will not turn blue or purple the next day in mild cases. In severe cases, you may still see the bruise, but it will usually be faint and small.
This is when you can use heat to help the bruise disappear quickly. Soak a towel in very hot water, wring it out, and apply it to the bruise; rinse it when the towel cools down; repeat this process for 1 to 2 hours, depending on the size of the bruise.
Dr. Sheldon P. (Duke University School of Medicine) explains that heat helps blood flow through the bruised area faster, thus making the bruise disappear more quickly. This reasoning is probably not unfamiliar. In Vietnam, you may have seen people applying hot oil to bruises. This action is intended to help blood flow faster…
In any case, a combination of cold and hot is certainly better than using only hot oil.
Drink vitamin C
Vitamin C is also one of the most effective remedies for dissolving bruises. According to research from the University of North Carolina, people with low levels of vitamin C are more prone to bruising, and bruises take longer to heal.
Vitamin C creates the protective collagen layers in the body. These layers are thinner on the feet, hands, and face; that's why bruises tend to appear more easily, be darker, and take longer to heal in these areas.
Therefore, if you find yourself bruising more easily than others, it's not because your skin is more "sensitive," but rather because you consume less vitamin C.
To reduce bruising, you can consume about 1,500 mg of vitamin C per day. However, you need your doctor's approval to consume that much vitamin C. If you're hesitant to see a doctor, try consuming plenty of vitamin C-rich foods such as citrus fruits and dark green leafy vegetables.
Vinegar
Slice a few onions, mix them with apple cider vinegar, and apply the mixture to the bruised area. Few people know that apple cider vinegar is very effective in treating inflammation, swelling, and bruising.
Simply soak a small cotton ball in apple cider vinegar and apply it directly to the wound, or mix it with egg white and apply it to bruises.
