The Mercedes AMG GT-S super sports car with a selling price of more than 8 billion VND has just appeared in Vietnam. |
Of which, the Maybach S 600 luxury sedan has the highest retail price of 9.669 billion VND, the AMG GT-S super sports car has a retail price of 8.259 billion VND, the CLS 500 4Matic has a price of 4.799 billion VND and the car with the lowest price is the GLA 250 4Matic, at 1.689 billion VND.
Notably, according to Mr. Michael Behrens, General Director of Mercedes-Benz Vietnam, these are only 4 out of 20 new car models that will be available in the Vietnamese market in 2015.
Thus, with 20 car models available in 2015, within 3 consecutive years from 2013-2015, Mercedes-Benz Vietnam has launched a total of 47 new car models and new versions to the market.
In a market with a small capacity like Vietnam, it is rare for a passenger car brand to introduce 20 models within a year. The reason this German car company is trying to introduce such a number of models is to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the Mercedes-Benz brand in Vietnam.
In 2014, Mercedes-Benz Vietnam also introduced 19 new car models to the market, including a bicycle model.
Mr. Michael Behrens said that Mercedes-Benz Vietnam is investing an additional 20 million USD in the assembly plant located in Ho Chi Minh City. And according to research, most of this new investment capital will be focused on the best-selling car line with the three-pointed star logo in Vietnam, the new generation C-Class.
According to statistics from the Vietnam Automobile Manufacturers Association (VAMA), total sales of Mercedes-Benz in 2014 reached 2,467 units, a 43% increase over the previous year.
In 2014, Vietnam was also the second fastest growing market in the world and the fastest in Asia for Mercedes-Benz.
