Messi surpasses Ronaldo in the Golden Shoe race
Messi's double, while CR7's lack of scoring luck in last weekend's round, caused a big change in the overall standings of the European Golden Shoe race.
Messi's two goals against Eibar not only helped Barca gain three more points, but also brought the striker himself to the top of the personal record table. M10 currently has a total of 32 goals in Liga 2014-2015, equivalent to 64 points in the Golden Boot race.

Ronaldo did not score any goals in Real's 2-0 win over Levante, so his record remained at 30 goals. With a gap of four points, CR7 was surpassed by Messi for the first time this season. This was a big surprise because the best player in the world was at one point 10 points ahead.
Alexander Meier moved up to third place after the first round of the weekend thanks to the opening goal in the 4-0 win over Paderborn. The Frankfurt striker now has 19 goals in the Bundesliga, equivalent to 38 points.
Chelsea's Diego Costa has also scored once and has moved up to fourth place with 18 goals and 36 points. Kalev striker Kabaev has twice as many goals but only has the same number of points as Costa, as the Estonian league only has a coefficient of 1 for each goal.
Last weekend Lacazette failed to score a goal for Lyon in a 0-0 draw with Marseille. The striker therefore dropped to sixth place with 23 goals and 34.5 points (the French championship has a coefficient of only 1.5).
