Messi reveals his votes for the FIFA Ballon d'Or

Lionel Messi has just revealed the candidates he voted for in the 2012 FIFA Ballon d'Or race.

"Right now I don't think much about it (the FIFA Ballon d'Or)," the Argentine striker told Marca.

"I feel so lucky to have the chance to win this title three times. It's unbelievable but this year will be different and I won't be the one to win."

"Up to this point, I don't know who is on the shortlist. But I will definitely vote for Xavi, Andres (Iniesta) and one of my compatriots," Messi revealed the votes he plans to cast.

In his speech, the captain of Argentina also said that stars like Iker Casillas and Cristiano Ronaldo of rival team Real Madrid are also completely worthy of the 2012 FIFA Ballon d'Or award.

"This year's Ballon d'Or award could go to Iker Casillas. He is the best goalkeeper in the world," Messi praised Casillas.
