Messi and Mourinho – the highest earning players and coaches

The French football magazine recently compiled a list of the best individuals who make money from football, both as players and coaches. The two names honored are none other than the 2010 Ballon d'Or winner and the coach of the White Vultures.

According to the magazine, Barcelona striker Lionel Messi is the highest paid person in the world. Meanwhile, no coach can surpass Jose Mourinho in terms of earnings.

Specifically, the Argentine player earned 31 million euros in 2010. This amount includes salary as well as money earned from contracts related to him. Right behind Messi is Ronaldo of Real, with an income of 3.5 million euros less.

In third place in the player rankings is Manchester United's Wayne Rooney, who earned 20.7 million euros last year.
