Windows 10 Mobile won't get any major upgrades, just bug fixes. |
Users of Microsoft's mobile operating system will still receive bug fixes and security patches. However, it mainly serves business customers and ordinary users should not expect much. The statement of Microsoft's leader is like a "death sentence" for Windows 10 Mobile.
One of the reasons for the failure was the limited number of applications for Windows 10 Mobile. Microsoft tried to pay software developers, even launching applications itself, but the number of users was too small, causing companies to turn away.
It was difficult to convince a partner to build and develop a Windows 10 Mobile version of an application when most users chose Android and iOS. Belfiore himself also switched to Android because of the rich software and hardware diversity.
The little mark that Microsoft left with Windows 10 Mobile is the Edge browser brought to Android and iOS. The company also recently released Microsoft Launcher for mobile devices running Google's operating system.
