The Washington Post has reported that Microsoft is now launching its latest effort to further encrypt Internet traffic after concluding that the US National Security Agency (NSA) had broken into Microsoft's global communications systems.

The decision was made after many other major Internet service companies such as Google, Facebook and Yahoo made similar encryption moves, following reports that the NSA had found a way to access their data centers.
According to The Washington Post, several senior Microsoft executives met this week to decide which encryption method is right for their systems, and how quickly they can deploy it.
With a series of timely actions, major US Internet companies are trying to reassure users that they are not colluding with security agencies to disclose personal information, even though the truth behind it may be more complicated.
