The cold air mass continues to cause rain and cold in the North tonight and tomorrow. Temperatures in some mountainous areas will drop to 15 degrees Celsius. Storm No. 6 continues to cause rain in the Central provinces.

The National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting said that today (September 6) and tomorrow, all northern provinces will continue to be affected by the western edge of the continental cold high pressure tongue, causing rain and cold. The Hanoi area has a level 2-3 northeast monsoon, cloudy, rainy; the lowest temperature is 18-21 degrees Celsius, the highest is 21-24 degrees. Especially in the mountainous provinces in the Northeast, the temperature will drop quite low. At night it will be only 15-17 degrees, during the day 21-24 degrees.

The cold spell in the North will not last long, as the cold air mass has begun to weaken. From tomorrow, temperatures across the region will continue to rise, and the weather will turn warmer.

Meanwhile, yesterday afternoon (October 5), after entering the sea area of Ha Tinh - Quang Binh provinces, the tropical depression weakened into a low pressure area and gradually dissipated over the coastal waters.

However, due to the influence of the low pressure circulation combined with the strong northeast wind zone, in the Gulf of Tonkin there are still strong winds of level 6, level 7, gusts of level 8, level 9, and rough seas. The northern provinces also have moderate to heavy rain.

Regarding the flood situation in the Mekong Delta (MD), it is still at a tense level. According to the announcement from the meteorological agency, the flood in the upper part of the Mekong River is changing slowly; the inland area of Dong Thap Muoi continues to rise, the Long Xuyen Quadrangle is decreasing slowly but is still at a high level. According to initial reports, 11 people have died due to the flood and tens of thousands of hectares of crops of people in the MD have been damaged and flooded.
