Free vaccination against diphtheria, whooping cough, tetanus
This free vaccination program will apply to children aged 18 months instead of 6 years old as before.
Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Tran Hien, Director of the National Institute of Hygiene and Epidemiology, said that since 2011, the national expanded immunization program has provided free DPT vaccine (to prevent diphtheria, whooping cough, and tetanus) to all children 18 months of age.

Previously, this vaccine was given in three doses to children at 2-4 months of age. In 2011, the second booster dose will also be given to children at 18 months of age nationwide instead of 6 years old as before.
