Rally in response to National Week of Clean Water and Environmental Sanitation 2013

(Baonghean.vn) -This morning, April 26, in Dien Yen commune, Dien Chau district, the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development coordinated with the Provincial Youth Union to organize the launching ceremony in response to the National Clean Water and Environmental Sanitation Week 2013.

Attending the event were comrade Ho Ngoc Sy - Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Director of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, along with more than 1,500 Youth Union members from 70 Youth Union branches in Dien Chau district, and people of Dien Yen commune.

Overview of the launching ceremony

Up to now, more than 90% of rural people in the province have access to clean water according to the criteria set by the People's Committee, of which more than 30% have access to clean water according to the standards issued by the Ministry of Health. Over 70% of households have hygienic toilets and barns. This result has contributed to improving people's lives and changing the face of the countryside today. However, the widespread use of pesticides, free-range livestock and poultry, indiscriminate forest exploitation, unsanitary latrines, and untreated domestic, industrial, and medical waste have polluted the environment and water sources, especially in densely populated areas, increasing epidemics and affecting people's health and lives.




Delegates participated in planting trees after the rally.

In this campaign, all the people and the Youth Union of Dien Chau district were informed about the emulation content to build green, clean and beautiful villages, to mobilize families, communities and agencies to participate, and at the same time fight against negative behaviors that destroy the living environment, and set an example in implementing environmental sanitation regulations in public places. The Youth Union at all levels actively promoted effective forms of activities such as: "Self-managed youth road", "Youth volunteer team for a green - clean - beautiful environment", "For the green of the homeland", "Green Sunday".





Youth Union cleans village roads, dredges sewers, and maintains inter-village roads.

Immediately after the launching ceremony, mass organizations, students, and youth union members participated in cleaning village roads, clearing sewers, and maintaining inter-village roads.
