Rally to commemorate 50 years of Agent Orange disaster in Vietnam
(Baonghean) -On the morning of August 10, in Vinh City, a rally was held to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the Agent Orange disaster in Vietnam (August 10, 1961 - August 10, 2011). Attending were comrade Nguyen Xuan Duong - Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Vice Chairman of Nghe An Provincial People's Committee, representatives of departments, branches, and 20 districts, towns, and cities, 50 victims representing more than 30,000 victims of Agent Orange/dioxin and members of the Nghe An Province Association of Victims of Agent Orange/dioxin.
Speaking at the rally, comrade Nguyen Xuan Duong praised the efforts of the provincial Association of Agent Orange/dioxin Victims at all levels with many humanitarian activities to ease the pain of victims, especially helping, visiting, and mobilizing the establishment of the Victims Fund...

He noted that in the coming time, the authorities at all levels and sectors in the province need to further promote the propaganda work on the Agent Orange disaster as well as the policies of the Party, the State and the province; Mobilize philanthropists and responsible businesses to support and help victims both spiritually and materially; focus on doing well the movement of action for victims of Agent Orange/dioxin launched by the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee and the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Nghe An province; Use the Victim Fund for the right purpose and right target to achieve the highest efficiency, giving priority to victims in remote and disadvantaged areas who have not yet received support; Build a more complete and stronger organization of the Association of Victims of Agent Orange/dioxin at all levels in the province...
