(Baonghean.vn) - On the morning of August 20, officers and soldiers of the Provincial Armed Forces offered incense and flowers at the Kim Lien Relic Site, the City Martyrs Cemetery and held a rally to celebrate the 67th anniversary of the Traditional Day of the Nghe An Provincial Armed Forces (August 21, 1945 - August 21, 2012).
Lighting incense before the spirit of Uncle Ho - the great leader of the nation, the beloved Father of the armed forces, officers and soldiers of the Provincial Armed Forces reported to Uncle Ho the outstanding achievements gained during 67 years of fighting and growing up.
At Vinh City Cemetery, officers and soldiers of the Provincial Armed Forces offered incense and flowers to express their deep gratitude for the noble sacrifices of generations of fathers and brothers in the wars of liberation for independence and freedom for the Fatherland.
During the 67 years of construction, fighting and growing up, going through 2 resistance wars against invaders and wars to protect the Fatherland, performing international missions, both fighting and building, Nghe An Armed Forces have been honored by the Party and State with the title of Hero of the People's Armed Forces. There were 157 collectives of local army units, militia and self-defense forces, 73 officers and soldiers who were awarded the title of Hero of the People's Armed Forces by the State. In November 2001, the Quy Tap Group was awarded the title of Hero of the People's Armed Forces in the renovation period by the State. There were hundreds of thousands of medals and badges of all kinds awarded to officers and soldiers, 876 mothers were awarded and posthumously awarded the title of Heroic Vietnamese Mother.
With the achievements, the current generation of cadres and soldiers of the provincial armed forces vow to strive to achieve the highest results in the Emulation movement to win, worthy of being soldiers in the beloved homeland of Uncle Ho, the heroic Soviet homeland, a loyal and trustworthy political and fighting force of the Party Committee, government and people of the province.
