Rally to commemorate victims of traffic accidents

(Baonghean.vn) - On the evening of November 15, at the Provincial Labor Culture House, a rally took place to commemorate victims who died in traffic accidents.

Attending the ceremony were comrades: Dinh Thi Le Thanh - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; Nguyen Hong Ky - Member of the Provincial Party Executive Committee, Director of the Department of Transport, Deputy Head of the Provincial Traffic Safety Committee, representatives of departments, branches and nearly 1,000 students from universities and colleges in the area.

Traffic accidents have become a problem for every country. In Vietnam, on average, every day there are 24 victims who die, more than 70 people are injured for life due to traffic accidents, causing damage from 250 to 300 billion VND each year. For Nghe An, in the past 10 months, there have been 218 accidents, killing 114 people and injuring 172 people.

The causes of accidents are mostly due to drivers not observing, not complying with traffic safety regulations, drinking alcohol, speeding, reckless driving...

Faced with the above situation, in recent years, many agencies and sectors have made efforts to promote traffic safety work, in which, the commemoration of victims of traffic accidents in 2015 is an opportunity to remind each of us to strictly comply with traffic laws and proactively contribute to ensuring safety for the community.

At the rally, delegates observed a minute of silence in memory of the unfortunate victims of traffic accidents; and called on the community to share the difficulties of the families and relatives of traffic accident victims.

Comrade Dinh Thi Le Thanh, Vice Chairwoman of the Provincial People's Committee, sent words of encouragement to the families of the deceased victims, and called on all levels and sectors to do a good job of ensuring traffic safety in the province, and to make continuous efforts to build a progressive traffic culture.

He also reminded all people to obey traffic laws, especially the young generation, not to use alcohol or stimulants such as wine or beer before driving.
