Mitsubishi launches three new car models in Vietnam

Attrage, Outlander Sport and Pajero are three new products recently introduced by Vinastar in Hanoi.

Vina Star Motors (VSM), the exclusive manufacturer and distributor of Mitsubishi cars in Vietnam, said that this trio of products will be the company's sales growth expectation during the most exciting time of the year in the car market. In response to a question from a VOV.vn reporter, VSM gave a desired figure of about 600-700 cars/year for the two products Attrage and Outlander Sport. The iconic Pajero model is targeted at 50 cars/year.

Attrage is imported completely from Thailand with the price for the standard version (MT Std) of 468 million VND. The Attrage MT version is priced at 498 million VND. The highest-end Attrage version uses a CVT gearbox and is priced at 548 million VND. VSM positions Attrage to participate in the small sedan segment with competitors in Vietnam such as: Toyota Vios, Honda City, Ford Fiesta sedan or Nissan Sunny. The announced starting price makes the standard Attrage the cheapest model compared to the above competitors.

Outlander Sport and Pajero are imported directly from Japan. The price for the standard Outlander Sport version is 870 million VND. The higher-end version costs 968 million VND. Responding to VOV.vn, Mr. Kunihide Kume, Deputy General Director of VSM said: "We identify the two main competitors of Outlander Sport in Vietnam as Mazda CX-5 and Honda CR-V". Meanwhile, Pajero is positioned to compete with Toyota Prado, which is offered by VSM at a price of 1.88 billion VND for the only version. Pajero's color options are black and white.

Mitsubishi Attrage has an attractive starting price for first-time car buyers in Vietnam.

Attrage is the sedan version of the Mirage model, as Toyota did with the Vios and Yaris. The rounded, soft lines of the Mirage all appear on the Attrage, while competitors in the same segment such as the Vios or City are shifting to angular designs that create a sporty and modern feel. All three versions of the Attrage sold use a 1.2-liter (3-cylinder) MIVEC engine for a maximum capacity of 77 horsepower at 6,000 rpm. Maximum torque of 100Nm at 4,000 rpm. The highest-end version uses a CVT automatic transmission. The remaining two versions are 5-speed manual transmissions. Mitsubishi announced the fuel consumption of the Attrage at 4.7 liters/100km.

Mitsubishi equips the Attrage CVT with all leather seats and steering wheel. The cabin is equipped with many convenient storage compartments when used frequently in the city. Multi-information display screen, 6.1" entertainment DVD screen, external connections bluetooth, AUX, USB, push-button start, smart key... are available equipment on the highest-end Attrage version.

The body has dimensions of length, width, and height of 4,245 x 1,670 x 1,515 mm, respectively. The wheelbase of 2,550 mm gives Attrage a turning radius of only 4.8 meters. Safety features include front disc brakes and rear drum brakes on all versions. Anti-lock braking system ABS and electronic brake force distribution EBD are equipped on all versions.

Mitsubishi expects Outlander Sport to gain market share with Honda CR-V or Mazda CX-5.

The Outlander Sport does not have a rugged design like the Honda CR-V or Mazda CX-5, but follows the crossover trend. The design is inspired by the Lancer Evolution sedan, so the Outlander Sport feels smaller than the two competitors above. The vehicle's dimensions are 4,295 x 1,770 x 1,625mm in length, width, and height, respectively. The wheelbase is 2,670mm with a minimum turning radius of 5.3 meters.

Outlander Sport uses a 2.0-liter MIVEC inline 4-cylinder engine for a maximum capacity of 149 horsepower at 6,000 rpm. Maximum torque of 197Nm at 4,200 rpm is distributed to the front-wheel drive system via a CVT gearbox.

The highest-end Outlander Sport version is equipped with a panoramic glass roof (no sunroof); full leather seats with electric front seats, integrated heating; large paddle shifters behind the steering wheel with sport driving mode... The safety system includes two airbags, ABS, EBD, BA, anti-sudden acceleration system, steering shaft, and self-dumping brake pedal in the event of a collision.

After 4 generations of development and 12 times winning the Dakar Rally, Pajero is officially sold in Vietnam after a long absence. The exterior design of the car is still the famous square beveled lines that have made the Pajero brand famous. The 3.0 liter V6 engine version has a maximum capacity of 183 horsepower and a maximum torque of 267Nm. The 4x4 super select II 2-wheel drive system has up to 4 drive modes, allowing the driver to flexibly change between 2H-4H-4HLc modes even at a speed of 100km/h...

Currently, Mitsubishi’s three new products have begun accepting orders through authorized dealers nationwide. It is expected that by the end of November, the Attrage, Outlander Sport and Pajero will be delivered to Vietnamese customers./.
