Opening the temple to celebrate the traditional festival of Hoa Lu Ancient Capital
On the morning of April 7, at the Hoa Lu Ancient Capital Historical Site (Ninh Binh), Hoa Lu district and Truong Yen commune held a temple opening ceremony to mark the 2011 festival.
Hoa Lu Ancient Capital Festival is the most sacred and biggest traditional festival of the year in Ninh Binh to worship the Dinh Kings, Le Kings and the Early Ly Kings.

Hoa Lu land has marked its historical mark with 1,043 years since Dinh Bo Linh ascended the throne to establish the first centralized feudal state in Vietnam. Therefore, every year, Ninh Binh province organizes a large-scale festival attracting a large number of people from localities in the province and domestic and international tourists to visit.
The festival will take place from April 8 to 12 (March 6 to 10 of the lunar calendar). This year, there will be a temple opening ceremony to offer incense and pray to the gods for permission to hold the festival.
On April 8, the Hoa Lu Ancient Capital Festival will officially open. At 5:30 a.m., a water procession from the Hoang Long River to the temple will take place.
On the sidelines of the festival, there are many activities such as art performances; a grand prayer ceremony; a flower lantern ceremony; releasing 1,043 balloons; a calligraphy contest; a fruit tray contest to see off the king, and many sports activities.
