Open road in Lau village
(Baonghean)In early July, we were present at Lau village, Thach Giam commune, Tuong Duong district, during the days when the village was enthusiastically building roads to implement the new rural construction program.
From early morning, the villagers were assigned to groups to shovel sand, gravel, and mix concrete. The skillful hands of Mr. Xa Van Nhat were diligently spreading the newly poured concrete layer flat and even. Sweat soaked his protective clothing, but he was still diligent in his work, regardless of the fatigue. He shared: "It's great to be able to contribute labor days to build roads for the village like this. In just a short time, the concrete road will be completed, and this rainy season, our villagers will no longer have to travel in the mud and hardship like before."
Lau village was chosen as a pilot in the new rural construction program of Thach Giam commune. After the policy was issued, the Party cell held a meeting with the people to approve the policy of the higher level to grasp the policy of the Party and the State. The Party cell promptly disseminated and assigned specific tasks to each Party member, and at the same time coordinated with departments, branches and organizations in the village to implement it with the motto "The Party cell holds the village, the Party members hold the household". Through propaganda work, the policy of new rural construction has received the consensus and response of the majority of cadres and villagers.
Lau villagers build internal village roads
First of all, the Party cell determined that this was a good condition to improve and upgrade the local traffic system, mobilizing people to participate in the implementation. With the motto of "contribute together, invest together, build together", Party members took the lead in clearing the land, mobilizing everyone around to do the same... Previously, the main road as well as the branch roads in the village were winding, narrow, and dirt roads, so it was often muddy when it rained. To expand, the Party cell mobilized people to donate land, and Party members had to take the lead in setting an example. When the Party cell had a policy, people in the village simultaneously mobilized to clear the fences and trees to widen the road, so the clearance work was carried out quickly, in just 1 day, 4 roads in the village were clear. The Party cell mobilized households near the road to voluntarily demolish the fences and clear the corridor. Many people volunteered to donate land and trees to expand the village's roads, such as Xa Hong Chuong's family with more than 100 trees, Xen Cong Vo, Xa Van Danh, Xa Van Thon cut down mango, meter, acacia trees... without asking for any compensation or support.
The corridor was expanded, the Lau village Party cell mobilized people to contribute sand and gravel, the district provided cement and concrete mixers. At the same time, the Party cell assigned households in the village to participate in working days. Each group had 15 people working 2 days in rotation. The village did not organize massive work leading to poor quality of the project, but divided into groups, so that people could both work in the fields and participate in road construction. Ms. Vi Thi Son - Secretary of Lau village Party Cell said: “The Party Cell identifies infrastructure, of which roads are the most important task. At the same time, meetings are organized among village cadres and organizations to propagate and mobilize people to effectively implement each criterion. Thanks to the clear understanding of all the Party's policies and guidelines on building new rural areas, people discuss openly and carry out tasks autonomously, without waiting or relying on the support of the State. Mobilizing people to contribute sand, gravel, and working days shows the value and significance of their efforts.”
Talking to us, Mr. Vi Van Bang, a cadastral officer of Thach Giam commune - the technical supervisor of road construction in Lau village said: "In the beginning, because they did not fully understand the policy and did not understand the policy of the new rural construction program, many households demanded compensation for trees, crops, land... After the village party cell coordinated with the committees in the village to clearly propagate the content and purpose of building new rural areas, the people in the village changed their awareness, voluntarily and enthusiastically participated in donating land, voluntarily cutting down trees, land, and participating in working days to build roads."
The road built by people in Lau village is a success from the specific actions of each party member, the close direction and leadership of the party cell and the voluntary participation of the people.
