Hundreds of millions of fish cage and beef cattle models on Nam Non River
(Baonghean.vn) - Realizing the advantages of water resources and forests, Mr. Pham Van Than in Cua Rao 1 village, Xa Luong commune, Tuong Duong has raised fish in cages and cows with high efficiency.
Mr. Pham Van Than said: Taking advantage of the river water source, his family tried raising fish in cages since 2005. At first, it was very difficult due to lack of capital and technology, so the family only invested in raising 1 fish cage. Gradually, he increased to 2 fish cages with carp, silver carp, grass carp, etc. Thanks to the abundant natural alluvial source, the fish raised in the cages grew quickly, earning 30-40 million VND each year from the fish.

Saving up capital, he raised more cows and pigs for meat. To ensure a stable income from raising cows, Mr. Than invested nearly 80 million VND to build barns, keep the cows warm when winter comes and plant elephant grass for the cows to eat. Up to now, he has 7 cows, including 1 bull, 6 breeding cows, giving birth to 4-5 calves each year. Each year, he earns over 100 million VND from selling calves.
Taking advantage of a garden of nearly 1 hectare, in early 2016, Mr. Than continued to borrow an additional investment capital of 200 million VND to build a pig farm to raise super lean pigs. His farm was built according to the technical standards of a livestock farm, with an area of 320 m2, divided into 10 compartments.
