Dong Ngo parish model unites to build new countryside

(Baonghean.vn) - On April 13, the Fatherland Front of Yen Thanh district coordinated with Hong Thanh commune to organize a conference to report on the model "Dong Ngo parish unites to build new rural areas".

Conference overview

In the first quarter of 2014, Yen Thanh district has implemented the construction of 3 model parishes united in building new rural areas, including Dong Ngo parish. To complete the model's objectives, under the leadership of the Party Committee, local authorities, Fatherland Front Committees at all levels, the Front's working committees, and Dong Ngo hamlet's executive committee have closely coordinated with the Pastoral Council, issued parishes, sought the help of parish priests, and promoted patriotic emulation movements: "Living a good life, living a good religion - The Gospel in the heart of the nation" to develop the economy, eliminate hunger and reduce poverty. In particular, implementing the policy of expanding rural roads according to new rural standards, 42 households in the parish voluntarily donated 1,400 square meters of land; demolished 9 houses and auxiliary works; built 25 gates; relocated and demolished over 1,100 meters of fence to hand over the land to the commune and hamlet. The total cost was nearly 466 million VND. With the support of cement from the state, parishioners contributed money, labor days to concretize village and hamlet roads. Up to now, over 95% of the roads have been expanded, concreted, spacious and clean. Parishioners are united, implementing well the policies of the Party and the laws of the state, stabilizing the social order and safety situation, becoming a bright spot in all local movements.

Speaking at the conference, comrade Nguyen Danh Tue - Chairman of the Fatherland Front Committee of Yen Thanh district, Secretary of the Party Committee of Hong Thanh commune acknowledged and highly appreciated the efforts and contributions of the parishes in general, and Dong Ngo parish in particular. At the same time, he hoped that in the coming time, the people would continue to have more practical activities, well implement the Party's guidelines and policies, the State's laws, compete in economic development - hunger eradication and poverty reduction, actively work with the Party committee, government and people to complete the criteria for building new rural areas, striving for Hong Thanh to soon reach the new rural destination by the end of 2015.
