(Baonghean.vn) -With the support of the Department of Science and Technology, Duong Hung Vuong Company Limited has successfully built a model for producing goby fish seeds in Quynh Lien commune (Quynh Luu); it has been accepted and evaluated as quite good, promising for applying the results and replicating the model to promote the development of goby fish farming in the coastal area of Nghe An.

In 2 years (2010-2011), with over 300 pairs of broodstock goby purchased from Nam Dinh, the model has implemented 3 maturation breeding cycles. The survival rate of fish in maturation breeding reached over 83%. Maturation breeding in earthen ponds resulted in a 40.8% rate of female fish with normal gonad development and increased to 53.7% when transferred to maturation breeding in cement tanks. The rate of mature female fish that met the selection criteria for reproduction was 39.6%. The rate of spawning female fish/number of selected fish was over 40%.

From the results of artificial reproduction, the model has obtained over 100,000 goby fish at the fry stage. The average survival rate in raising fry to fry (30 days) reached 19.4%, the fish length reached 2.2-2.4cm. Next, raising from fry to fry has obtained over 50,000 fingerlings with a size of 5-6cm to provide to people raising commercial goby fish in the province. The survival rate of fingerlings reached an average of 72.1% after 30 days of raising.

From the results of technology transfer and production experiments, the company conducted technical training for over 50 coastal aquaculture farmers in Quynh Luu, completed and introduced a goby fish seed production process suitable for Nghe An conditions with basic steps.

Mr. To Huy Van - Director of Duong Hung Vuong Company Limited said that if fully utilized, the model can produce over 500,000 fingerlings and fingerlings per year to supply to farmers in the province. Currently, the demand for goby fingerlings in the domestic and foreign markets is very high, so inefficient shrimp fingerling farms can transfer or use the time not producing shrimp fingerlings to produce this species, which will help extend the production time and improve economic efficiency.

During the rearing process, parent fish weighing 80-100g/fish are raised for maturation and reproduction rates higher than fish weighing >100g/fish. The food used when rearing in earthen ponds is fresh food (trash fish, shrimp,...) or dry processed food (dried shrimp, dried fish), and floating pellets with a minimum protein content of 26%, with a ration of 3% of body weight. When raising to maturity in tanks, use floating pellets (40-50%) with a protein content of 35% and live food (50-60%) such as shrimp, fish, bivalve mollusks. Fish food should be supplemented with Vitamin E, C and biological products.

In fish fry rearing, the food used is algae, moina, artemia bung du and newly hatched artemia, some synthetic foods such as: N0, N1 lan sy. Fish from 10 days old and later are fed with homemade food (shrimp, fish, egg yolks of chicken, duck,...). Supplement vitamins and biological products to increase the fish's digestion and resistance. The food used in fish fry rearing is Artemia, synthetic food (floating pellets) and homemade food from ingredients such as: moina, trash fish, cereal powder, vitamins A, C, D, E, ground and mixed well.

The breeding and rearing environment must ensure salinity conditions of 17-20, temperature: 27-300C, DO > 4mg/l, pH: 7.5-8.2, combined with siphon, water change and use of biological products to manage the quality of the breeding environment.
