Tree planting model of youth in Hung Son commune (Anh Son)

(Baonghean.vn) - In order to promote the role of young people in implementing the criteria for building new rural areas at the grassroots level, contributing to the effective implementation of the movement "The whole country joins hands to build new rural areas", the youth union of Hung Son commune, Anh Son district has launched and implemented a model of planting and planting trees, beautifying village roads and alleys; protecting the environmental landscape.

Since early 2014, the commune union has mobilized union members and youth to collect seeds of several tree species: royal poinciana, areca (available locally) to create a nursery with nearly 1,000 trees. These seedlings have been distributed to hamlets to plant along main roads to create a green, clean and beautiful landscape.

Up to now, 5/9 youth union branches have launched a campaign to plant trees, greening over 20 km of rural roads in the commune; at the same time, each youth union branch manages these roads.

The road leading to the center of Hung Son commune has been planted with rows of trees on both sides by the commune's youth union. This is a self-managed youth project.

This is a practical model and a creative solution of the Hung Son commune youth union that needs to be replicated throughout the district and province; to both save local investment funds for project implementation, and at the same time promote the spirit of volunteerism of young people in beautifying the village landscape, protecting the environment; contributing to the construction of new rural areas.
