Cong Thao peanut candy production facility is considered a large-scale production facility in the village. According to Mr. Nguyen Van Cong, in order to meet market demand, he and his wife decided to borrow 100 million VND from the Agricultural Bank to invest in a cake coating line with a boiler and automatic water line. Along with the cake production line is the diversity and innovation in form. The products of his and his wife's facility are very rich, including crispy cu do peanut candy, sugar peanut candy, rice paper candy, and white sausage candy.
In particular, the chewy cu do candy product is favored by consumers, who buy it at home. He excitedly said: "To have raw materials for producing confectionery for Tet, in the past few months, my family has been looking for peanuts, good rice and sesame from Nghi Loc, Vinh to stock up. In the warehouse, there are currently nearly 2 tons of selected peanuts, ready for producing Tet confectionery.

During Tet, agents from Hanoi, Vinh City, Dien Chau, Hoa Binh, Tuong Duong and even agents from Laos also called to place orders, so they were very busy. From now until Tet, they have to work continuously day and night. Normally, a day can produce 30 kg of finished rice paper and 200-500 kg of peanut candy. During Tet, the output is 3 to 4 times higher than usual. With an automatic rice paper coating machine, the family saves and frees up a lot of labor, many difficult production steps". According to the rough calculation of Mr. Cong and his wife, during the peak month of Tet, after deducting the cost of raw materials and workers' salaries, his family earns over 10 million VND/month.
To have quality products, households in Vinh Duc have to choose the ingredients quite carefully. For rice paper, it is necessary to have delicious rice, well-sifted black sesame, garlic, pepper, and soup. Peanut candy products are more elaborate, the ingredients need to be firm peanuts, sugar, molasses, ginger, rice, malt and cu do cake. The cake producers believe that choosing the ingredients is the first important step, followed by the technique of making the cake and turning the candy. Combining these two steps is the secret to the success of Vinh Duc rice paper and peanut candy.
According to Mr. Pham Ngoc Giao, the history of making rice paper and peanut candy in Vinh Duc has been over 200 years. In 1980, the resolution of Do Luong district was to restore and develop the traditional craft village of making rice paper and peanut candy in Vinh Duc. Up to now, Vinh Duc has 109/253 households in the block attached to the craft of making rice paper and peanut candy, of which 60 households work on a large scale, hire workers and invest in turning machines, cake cutting machines, and cake coating machines to serve production. In 2009, the traditional craft village of making rice paper and peanut candy Vinh Duc was awarded a certificate of recognition by the Provincial People's Committee.
Mr. Nguyen Van Son - Vice Chairman of Do Luong Town People's Committee said: Vinh Duc traditional rice paper and peanut candy craft village contributes 25% to the total economic income of the whole town, contributing to creating jobs for 60 regular workers and over 40 seasonal workers from other localities. Resolution of the Do Luong Town Party Congress for the term 2006-2010 determined that developing Vinh Duc traditional rice paper and peanut candy craft village is a priority in the system of developing the network of service providers and handicrafts in the area.
However, the production of rice paper and peanut candy in the craft village is currently spontaneous and has not yet built a brand. To overcome these shortcomings, the Town is planning to build a concentrated production area for the craft village, with an area of 2 hectares and an investment scale of nearly 10 billion VND. According to this plan, the Town will direct the Cooperative to do well the input and output services for the craft village, bring 36 large-scale production households to produce in the concentrated area, and pay attention to loan support policies...
