Every year Dien Chau (Nghe An) catches and produces 500 tons of shrimp.

(Baonghean.vn) -On May 15, Dien Chau district organized the 1st Congress of the Shrimp Production and Business Association. This is one of the activities towards building the collective brand "Dien Chau Shrimp".

Mr. Nguyen Viet Hung - Deputy Director of the Department of Science and Technology of Nghe An province presented the decision to establish the Dien Chau Shrimp Production and Trading Association.

Dien Chau has over 1,400 seafood exploitation vessels, with an annual output of over 28,000 tons, of which shrimp output is over 500 tons. In addition to shrimp types with export value such as mantis shrimp, giant tiger shrimp, there are also some types such as: turmeric shrimp, iron shrimp, striped shrimp that people choose to process shrimp.

Dien Chau shrimp products are produced by traditional methods, so they have a unique flavor. Currently, Dien Chau shrimp are widely available in the market inside and outside the district. However, the production scale is still small, and business still faces many difficulties.

Dien Chau dried shrimp products have a bright red color, high nutritional quality and a sweet and fragrant taste.

Faced with this situation, the Dien Chau Shrimp Production and Business Association was established, initially with 30 members mainly from the two communes of Dien Bich and Dien Ngoc. The congress unanimously elected 5 members to the Executive Committee of the association and approved the charter of the Dien Chau Shrimp Production and Business Association, and at the same time set out a number of immediate key tasks such as: improving legal and professional knowledge for members, publicizing the quality of shrimp products, building a market to develop brands, etc.
