According to Oriental medicine, walnuts are sweet and warm; enter the kidneys and lungs. They have the effect of replenishing qi, nourishing blood, moistening the intestines, warming the lungs, dissolving phlegm, relieving asthma, benefiting the Gate of Life, and benefiting the triple burner.

Pecans are also known as walnuts, almonds, ginger peach, cycads, peanuts... Scientific name: Juglans regia L., walnut family (Juglandaceae). Pecan trees grow in cool, humid climates all year round, are transplanted trees, and are found in some northern mountainous provinces of our country.

Used parts: kernel - walnut meat; also used leaves and fruit.

Chemical composition: Walnut kernel contains protein, fatty oil; minerals Mg, Mn, Ca, P, Fe, vitamins A, B2, C, E. Ripe fruit contains ascorbic acid. Leaves contain ascorbic acid carotene. Fruit and many other parts contain glycosides.

Some remedies contain walnuts

Cure back pain and weak knees: 30g walnut kernel, 100g bone-strengthening herb, 100g dodder seed. Grind into powder, make into pills. Take 5g 3 times a day.

Treats cold kidneys, back pain, impotence, painful urination, frequent urination. Walnut seed 12g, Morinda officinalis 10g, Atractylodes Rhizome 8g, Achyranthes bidentata 8g, Cistanche deserticola 8g.

Medicinal dishes containing walnuts:

Candied walnuts and hawthorn with rock sugar: 150g walnut kernels, 50g fresh hawthorn, 200g rock sugar. Grind walnuts in water until thick and thin, squeeze hawthorn to get the juice; add rock sugar, cook until sugar dissolves and boil. Eat as desired. For patients with bronchitis, dry cough with little phlegm.

Candied walnuts, bone-strengthening agent: 60g walnut meat, 30g bone-strengthening agent. Crush walnuts, bone-strengthening agent, stir-fry with wine, grind finely, mix with honey to form a jam or candy to eat. Used for cases of bronchitis caused by cold deficiency causing cough, asthma, back pain, and waist pain.

Pecan syrup: 3kg pecans, 5 liters of alcohol, 1500ml of medicinal syrup. Crush pecans, add alcohol, heat, cover, dry in the sun for 20-30 days until black, filter the alcohol, add syrup, stir well. Drink 10-20ml each time; 1-2 times a day. For patients with stomach ulcers, duodenal ulcers (can be taken when in pain).

Walnuts and chives sauteed in sesame oil: 60g walnut kernels, 250g chives, 30g sesame oil. Crush the walnuts, use sesame oil to saute the walnuts and chives until cooked, add salt and spices to taste. Used for cases of premature ejaculation and impotence. This menu would be better if you added one or two pork kidneys.
