Jade Buddha statue donated by the Prime Minister to Truong Sa Pagoda.
It is known that this statue is one of two statues given by the World Buddhist Sangha and the Golden Pagoda of Myanmar to Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung during his official visit to the Union of Myanmar (from April 2 to 4). The Prime Minister decided to give these meaningful gifts to the Central Committee of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha located on the islands of Song Tu Tay and Truong Sa Lon in the Truong Sa archipelago.
The Buddha's birthday ceremony at Truong Sa Lon was not as noisy and bustling as on the mainland. The procession of about 100 people from the pagoda to the sovereignty marker was about a few dozen meters. Venerable Thich Giac Nghia was moved with each prayer, praying to Buddha to bless the country, the people, and for Hoang Sa - Truong Sa to forever belong to Vietnam's sovereignty.
A silent ceremony, lasting from 5:30 to 7:00 a.m., ended. At that time, the rain began to pour down on the island. The island was then bathed in a sacred and miraculous water given by Buddha.
Truong Sa town (belonging to Truong Sa island district, Khanh Hoa province) is known as the “Capital” of Truong Sa archipelago. Seen from above, Truong Sa looks like a blue heart in the middle of the vast ocean. It can also be imagined as a Bodhi leaf that Buddha bestowed upon Vietnam.
