The owner of the motorbike is Mr. Nguyen Cao Cu, from Duc Tho Town (Duc Tho District, Ha Tinh Province), vehicle license plate 38DI-002.46, on the way to Vinh City to wish relatives a happy new year, when reaching Ha Huy Tap Street (block 3, Ha Huy Tap Ward), he encountered a vehicle going in the same direction turning left but not signaling, Mr. Cu braked suddenly, the vehicle and the person fell and slid more than 10m. The vehicle caught fire, Mr. Cu only had time to pull his feet out of the vehicle and get out before the fire had engulfed the vehicle. Just one minute later, there were many tire explosions and many beer cans were thrown out.
The owner had just escaped when the car caught fire.
After only 10 minutes the car was reduced to a frame.
But people around risked their lives to get the license plate out.
Mr. Cu said: on the way from Ha Tinh, he stopped to fill up a full tank of gas (80,000 VND), he doesn't remember which gas station, but from Phuong Dong Hotel to Nguyen Van Cu Street, he carried a case of beer to wish his relatives a happy new year. When the reporter was there, he was still wearing his helmet.
