Opening the session, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council Nguyen Xuan Son affirmed that in the first 6 months of 2018, with the efforts and determination of the entire political system, the business community and all classes of people, the socio-economic situation of the province had positive changes, many indicators increased compared to the same period last year and increased compared to recent years, foreign affairs achieved many remarkable results, the position of the province continued to be raised.

Affirming that many difficulties and challenges still remain, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council Nguyen Xuan Son emphasized that achieving the targets and targets of the Resolution on socio-economic development tasks in 2018 set by the Provincial People's Council requires continued leadership and direction with correct and appropriate decisions from all levels, sectors and the political system.

And at this session, performing the supervisory function, the Provincial People's Council will review and discuss the report on the socio-economic situation in the first 6 months of the year, tasks and solutions for the last 6 months of 2018; reports of the Standing Committee of the Provincial People's Council, the Provincial People's Council Committees, the Provincial People's Committee, and judicial agencies; report on the results of handling voters' opinions and recommendations; report of the Provincial People's Council Supervisory Delegation on the results of thematic supervision; listen to the Notice on the activities of the Fatherland Front participating in government building and opinions and recommendations of local people, and at the same time conduct questions on a number of emerging issues that the Provincial People's Council delegates and voters of the province are interested in.

Regarding the decision-making function, based on the review of the submissions of the Standing Committee of the Provincial People's Council, the Provincial People's Committee, and the Provincial People's Court, the Provincial People's Council will discuss and approve 20 resolutions on the socio-economic, judicial, and personnel fields under the authority of the Provincial People's Council. These contents have been seriously and elaborately prepared, ensuring quality and progress.
