(Baonghean) - Primary School 2, Thach Ngan Commune has over 20 teachers and over 300 students. Due to the nature of the remote area and difficult transportation, the school is organized into separate schools in villages such as Ke Tre, Ke Tat, Ba Ha, and the main school is located in Ke Gia village in a dry highland area where it is very difficult to find a source of water for daily use. During the rainy season, there is enough water for 17 teachers and students at this school. During the dry season, teachers and students have to travel more than 3km to carry water for use. Most teachers, when assigned to do duty here, find every way to refuse or ask for unpaid leave, because coming here is not only difficult because of the roads, but also has to suffer from thirst due to lack of water for daily use.
All the flower gardens in the school have withered and died due to drought, only a few cacti are left. The entire land around the school, no matter how diligent the teachers are, cannot be planted due to lack of water. It has not rained for 3-4 months, the well has dried up, the school has reduced spending and mobilized teachers to contribute money to hire someone to dig a few more meters, but the more they dig, the less water they can find, because the underground water is too deep. Teachers have to take turns going home outside the town and the surrounding areas to bathe or go to Dan Lai village (Thach Son) to get water for use. The school board and council have submitted a request to the district and commune for financial support to drill an industrial well, but the cost is more than 40-50 million VND, so the district and commune cannot support. The school's budget is not enough to cover stationery and business expenses, so teachers and students have to go thirsty!
