A Thai family donated two rare wild animals.
(Baonghean.vn) - The family of Mr. Lo Van Hieu (Que Son commune, Que Phong district) is a Thai ethnic household that has requested to donate two red-faced monkeys. This is a rare wild animal.
Mr. Hieu is currently the Vice Chairman of the People's Council of Que Son Commune. According to Mr. Hieu, more than a year ago, when he was working in Nam Giai Commune, he encountered local people trapping two monkeys in the forest. At that time, the two monkeys were still young, one had a missing arm; the other had a missing leg.

Seeing the two little monkeys in such a state, he felt so sorry for them that he offered to buy them for 500,000 VND each. After buying them, he brought them home and took care of them until they healed. Now, both monkeys have grown up, weighing about 7-8kg each, and are familiar with his family.

Although “both monkeys are like family members,” Mr. Hieu thinks monkeys are wild animals and always wants to return them to the forest. Therefore, when he heard that Pu Hoat Nature Reserve had just returned a python to the forest, he proactively contacted them to donate it, so that this unit could fulfill his family’s wish.

Mr. Hieu said: “We sincerely donated them. We are just a little hesitant because they are healthy but have injuries, and are very close to people, so we don’t know if they will survive when returned to the forest…”.
In response to his concerns, the representative of the Pu Hoat Nature Reserve Management Board, Mr. Lo Van Hoai - Deputy Head of the Forest Protection Department, said that the Board will initially receive two monkeys. However, for these two monkeys, the Board will not return them to the forest but will contact the Wildlife Rescue Center of Pu Mat National Park so that this unit can receive them, take care of them, and protect them. "Only when they can survive in natural conditions, will the Wildlife Rescue Center return them to the forest..." - Mr. Hoai said.

The Management Board of Pu Hoat Nature Reserve will soon contact Pu Mat National Park so that they can soon return to nature…” - Mr. Hoai shared./.
