A corner of the border market

(Baonghean) - The border commune of Tri Le (Que Phong) is still considered quite bustling in terms of trading activities. Although it is located next to Laos, at the end of National Highway 48, this place has long had a fairly large market with a full range of goods, no less than a town. Passenger buses to Vinh City still depart regularly every day from here.

Recently, a "market within a market" has appeared right in Tri Le. It is a row of stalls located along the main market road. There, ethnic people from distant villages come to the village to sell homegrown products or products harvested from trips to the forest. There are all kinds of wild vegetables, bamboo shoots (small bamboo shoots). People also bring down whole wild beehives to sell pupae, or galangal flowers, squash, and melons...

This unique little market only takes place for an hour in the early morning. By around 7am, when the fog clears, the market is empty of buyers and sellers...
