At around 1am on September 17, the hospital admitted patient Le Manh Hung (36 years old, residing in Tay Son town, Huong Son, Ha Tinh) in emergency condition with severe blood loss. Examination results showed that the victim was shot in the left arm and left chest, causing 2 broken ribs, pneumothorax, broken radius, severed artery and nerve bundle of the left arm, broken wrist and crushed a finger.
Immediately, the patient was taken to the operating table for surgery to fix the broken bones, connect the arteries, etc. During the surgery, the doctor removed the bullet from the patient's body. Currently, the patient is out of danger.
According to patient Le Manh Hung, on the evening of September 16, he and a friend drove through Cau Treo border gate (Ha Tinh) to Bo-likham-xay province (Lao PDR) when a group of about 5 people opened fire with guns. The colleague who was with Hung opened the car door and escaped, but Hung was shot twice in the arm and chest, and lost consciousness. When he woke up, he found that all the 4 million Lao kip he was carrying had disappeared. Hung crawled out of the car and was taken to a nearby hospital for emergency treatment by some locals. However, due to the seriousness of his injuries, Hung was transferred to Nghe An General Hospital for emergency treatment.
