"A touch of Hanoi culture"
(Baonghean) - Hanoi – the love and nostalgia of many, a land that embodies the finest aspects of culture and cuisine. The uniquely captivating flavor of Hanoi beer has permeated the very being of countless people. Many times I wondered why Hanoi, a cultured, elegant, and meticulous capital city, still retains the traditional pale blue glass mugs with their visible bubbles?… Later I understood that this is what makes up “a unique aspect of Hanoi culture.”

Going back in time to 1890, in the 19th century, the French came to Hanoi and built the Hommel brewery to serve their needs. From then on, Hanoi began to have a new type of beer that blended with the ups and downs and culture of the people of Hanoi. Hommel was the predecessor of today's Habeco - Hanoi Beer, Wine and Beverage Corporation. With over 100 years of history, Hanoi Beer is the oldest beer brand in Vietnam's beverage industry.
Returning to the topic of the beer glass, it's a handleless glass, with a larger rim than base, and the glass still shows the pitted and raised marks of glass bubbles. It's probably no coincidence that many places still serve draft beer in this type of glass. During the difficult years of the country's subsidized economy, a glass of Hanoi beer was a luxury. My friend told me that there was a time when the country was struggling and couldn't import some of the beer's ingredients, and there was a time when Truc Bach beer – the first brand of Hanoi beer (produced on [date]) – was unavailable.15/8/1958The need to cease production certainly left many people disappointed. Much later, to celebrate the 1000th anniversary of Thang Long - Hanoi, and in response to the longing of the capital's people, Truc Bach beer reappeared on the market.
As a beer company with a tradition of over 100 years intertwined with the history of the capital and the country, Habeco aspires for each of its products to be a work of art, possessing cultural significance and reflecting the unique soul and spirit of the Vietnamese people. And not just Truc Bach beer, Habeco offers a diverse range of products: draft beer, bottled Hanoi beer, Lager beer, draft beer in 2-liter kegs… With the perfectly balanced bitterness of this premium beer, thanks to the noble Saaz hops; the golden, refreshing color of Hanoi beer will forever be a drink to remember and return to the memories of a difficult, challenging, yet glorious and heroic period that Hanoi beer experienced, and which continues to develop and become a cultural icon of Hanoi.
Five years ago, a highly anticipated factory sprang up in the Nam Cam Industrial Park, spanning 23 hectares, becoming the flagship of Nghe An's largest industrial park and a highlight on National Highway 1A passing through Nghi Loc district. The Hanoi Beer - Nghe An factory is the result of a collaboration between the Hanoi Beer, Wine and Beverage Corporation and the Vietnam-Laos Economic Cooperation Corporation. It was a project commemorating the 120th anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh's birth, and the Hanoi Beer - Nghe An factory is the 23rd factory of the Hanoi Beer, Wine and Beverage Corporation in Vietnam.
Hanoi Beer - Nghe An Joint Stock Company was established in April 2008 with a total investment of over 600 billion VND, utilizing advanced German technology. The company's main products are canned and bottled beer. To date, after more than four years of stable production and overcoming numerous difficulties in a new market, the factory's revenue and output have continued to grow. In 2013, beer production reached 49 million liters, revenue reached 820 billion VND, a 22% increase compared to 2012, and tax contributions amounted to 330 billion VND. In 2014, beer production exceeded 50 million liters, revenue reached over 830 billion VND, and tax contributions exceeded 335 billion VND. The factory provides stable employment for 130 employees, mainly from Nghe An province. In 2014, Hanoi Beer Nghe An Joint Stock Company actively participated in charitable and humanitarian activities in the area.
In production, the company always prioritizes food safety and hygiene, as well as environmental sanitation. Currently, the company has a wastewater treatment system that meets standards. The beer products have stable quality and are subject to strict supervision by the Hanoi Beer, Wine and Beverage Corporation. Hanoi Beer has become a familiar drink during festivals, holidays, family celebrations, and gatherings with friends in Nghe An province…
In the final days of the year, the Hanoi Beer Factory in Nghe An is rushing to increase productivity and output. Columns of white smoke rise high, emitting the fragrant aroma of beer. Inside the workshops, bright lights illuminate the area, workers are working overtime, and the bottling and canning lines are operating at full capacity. Streams of canned beer flow along conveyor belts, then into cardboard boxes and crates, automatically sealed. Outside, trucks come and go, loading up goods. A sense of urgency permeates the atmosphere for the peak business season of the year.
To maintain its renowned brand, the company's overarching strategy throughout its development has been: "Continuing to invest resources; leveraging advantages; expanding and maintaining market share; caring for the material and spiritual well-being of employees; ensuring high efficiency in production and business; fulfilling all obligations to the State; and paying attention to humanitarian and charitable work." This has affirmed the improved efficiency and quality in all areas of the company's operations. This is also the key to the success of Hanoi Beer - Nghe An Joint Stock Company, contributing to honoring "a unique aspect of Hanoi culture."
