One day caught 2 cases of illegal drug trafficking
(Baonghean) - Recently, through the work of grasping the situation and information provided by the people, in Yen Thanh district, there have appeared a number of subjects with illegal drug trafficking behavior, destabilizing the security and order situation, causing public outrage. Faced with that situation, the leaders of Yen Thanh district police have planned to direct the Drug Crime Investigation Team to quickly develop a plan to arrest the subjects, restoring peace to the people.
At around 10:00 a.m. on January 21, 2014, in Ngoc Thuy hamlet, Trung Thanh commune, Yen Thanh district police arrested Tran Van Hiep, born in 1986, residing in hamlet 16, Nghi Kieu commune, Nghi Loc district, for illegal drug trafficking. The evidence seized at the scene was a package of heroin weighing 0.25 grams. It is known that Hiep is a homeless person, unemployed, and has a criminal record. In 2009, he was tried by Nghi Loc district People's Court for theft. In 2011, he was sentenced to 27 months in prison by Vinh city People's Court for illegal possession of drugs. Despite his "record" of being in and out of prison, Hiep is still stuck in his old ways and the price he has to pay is a series of days in prison.

Then, at around 8:00 p.m. the same day, upon receiving information from the public, Yen Thanh District Police coordinated with Lien Thanh Commune Police to arrest Phan Dinh Hoang, born in 1992, residing in Hamlet 3, Lien Thanh Commune, for illegal possession of drugs. The seized evidence was 0.15 grams of heroin. This subject is also a drug addict and has 2 previous convictions, sentenced by the People's Court of Dong Nai Province for theft of property.
Previously, on January 19, 2014, Yen Thanh District Police ambushed Sung Yen Hamlet Cemetery, Do Thanh Commune and arrested Vo Van Nhan, born in 1995, residing in Dong Thi Hamlet, Do Thanh Commune for illegally trading in firecrackers. The seized evidence was 190 firecrackers weighing 8.5 kg.
The cases are being further investigated and clarified by Yen Thanh District Police.
