A soldier of Hoang Hoa Tham found his records after 70 years.

(Baonghean) -On November 28, 2011, poet and teacher Phan Huy Huyen and I were invited by the Vinh Thanh Commune Poetry Club (Yen Thanh) to participate in the judging panel of a poetry contest about the 50th anniversary of Uncle Ho's visit to Vinh Thanh.

After lunch, at the house of Mr. Nguyen Dang Che (currently a member of the Nghe An Literature Association), he announced some good news. His family had found the file of his grandfather, who was a soldier of Hoang Hoa Tham. He said: “Growing up, I heard my father, Mr. Nguyen Dang Kham, tell me that my grandmother said that after my grandfather was imprisoned by the French colonialists, after his prison term ended, they put him under house arrest, and he passed away in 1941. Hearing that, knowing that, but there were no files, no basis. But on the anniversary of his death in 2009, I had a younger brother working at the General Department of Security - Ministry of Public Security, and he suggested writing a letter to the General Department's Archives to help find the file, maybe it could be in the files of the French secret police that we have currently seized.

On June 20, 2011, our family received Official Letter No. 404 XNA93, dated June 16, 2011, signed by Colonel, Deputy Director of the Security Department Nguyen Duc Doai, informing the family that the grandfather's file had been found. The file stated: "Full name Do Trinh, also known as Nguyen Hai Chau, Nguyen The My, from Nhan Thap, Yen Thanh district, Nghe An, in 1923 participated in the patriotic movement led by Ngo Quang. In 1924, the French secret police wanted him for participating in the De Tham movement to do propaganda work, support, and raise money for the organization". So after many years of seemingly "looking for a needle in a haystack", we now have the original file recording our grandfather's achievements. We are excited and proud. What is even more special is that psychic Anh Quan (Quang Ninh) helped the family find the grave and portrait of our grandfather that his descendants have long been waiting for.

Mr. Nguyen Dang Che's family and descendants are extremely grateful to the General Department of Security - Ministry of Public Security, and directly to the Archives Department under the General Department of Security.
