A fisherman went missing while squid fishing.

(Baonghean.vn) - At 2:00 a.m. on May 8, 2015, a fisherman in Nghi Thiet commune (Nghi Loc) went missing while fishing for squid at night.

The missing victim was identified as Nguyen Van Thanh, born in 1961, from Nam Thinh hamlet, Nghi Thiet commune, Nghi Loc district. At around 6 p.m. on May 7, Thanh and his son-in-law, Tran Van Tam, set out to go squid fishing on two bamboo boats. The location where the two fished was in the waters of Nghi Yen, Nghi Loc, bordering the waters of Dien Chau district, about 3 nautical miles from the mainland.

At that time, hearing his father's cry for help, the son-in-law who was fishing for squid nearby brought his boat closer but could no longer see Mr. Thanh, only the boat remained. From what he heard and witnessed directly, the son-in-law thought that the cause might be because a junk or a large fishing boat nearby crashed into Mr. Tam's father-in-law, causing him to fall into the sea.

Immediately after receiving the bad news, relatives, local authorities, and functional forces organized a search for the missing victims in the boat sinking.
