Some notes when mixing pesticides

(Baonghean) -Combining pesticides is mixing two or more types of pesticides in one sprayer to spray at the same time to kill many pests on crops; at the same time, saving on spraying costs.

Normally, only two types of pesticides should be mixed in the same spraying to achieve high efficiency, while controlling the adverse effects caused by the mixing process. However, most farmers do not clearly understand the mixing principles and arbitrarily mix pesticides, so the effectiveness of pest control is low, and it also causes poisoning to crops. To help farmers use pesticides effectively and safely for crops, we would like to share some experiences as follows:

Groups of drugs that you can mix:

- Only when combining pesticides of different groups of roots will the effectiveness be high, such as: phosphorus group pesticides combined with the group of three-potatoes, phosphorus + chrysanthemum, three-potatoes + chrysanthemum, three-potatoes + growth regulators, microbial pesticides combined with phosphorus or chrysanthemum roots.

- Only combine drugs with different modes of action such as (contact, stomach poisoning, fumigation, systemic absorption, systemic administration,...)

- Only combine pesticides with fungicides, pesticides with herbicides, herbicides with fertilizers, ...

Groups of drugs that you should not mix:

- Do not combine pesticides with foliar fertilizers or growth regulators.

- Do not combine microbial pesticides with antibiotics-based fungicides....

- Do not combine pesticides and fungicides with copper-based pesticides such as Coc 85 and Coper B. Because copper-based pesticides are often highly alkaline, while pesticides and fungicides are acidic. When mixed together, they will neutralize and reduce the effectiveness of the pesticides.

To be more certain, you should take a little pure medicine and mix it with an equal amount of the other medicine in a ceramic, porcelain, glass, or plastic cup, use a stick to stir gently to dissolve it, leave it for 2-5 minutes. Observe if there is a phenomenon of precipitation below, scum on the surface, smoke, heat, bubbles, or unusual color change, then you should not mix those medicines together to spray on plants.

If you have confirmed that you can mix 2 types of medicine together, during the mixing process, you should put the first medicine into the bottle in turn, then add water to about half of the bottle, stir well, then add the second medicine and continue to add water until the bottle is full with the amount of water you need. Note that before mixing the medicine, there must be a moderate amount of water in the bottle and you should not put 2 types of medicine in at the same time, the concentration of each type must be kept the same as when used separately. After mixing, spray immediately.

To avoid familiar phenomena with pests on crops, when using, farmers need to rotate groups of drugs with different origins.
