One million Chinese officials investigated for corruption
The Chinese government says it has investigated more than one million officials for suspected corruption since 2013.
President Xi Jinping has spearheaded a sweeping anti-corruption campaign in China, which some observers say is being used to root out political rivals. Xi has dismissed this as a conspiracy theory.
The above figures were released by the Central Commission for Discipline Inspection while the 6th Plenum of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China was taking place in Beijing.

The BBC reports that the closed-door meeting will discuss changes to the party constitution. Analysts warn that some of the changes being considered could give Mr Xi more power.
Those investigated in the anti-corruption campaign range from low-level officials to ministers, members of the business and media sectors. China is still actively pursuing fugitives from the country under its Sky Net and Fox Hunt operations.
Chinese authorities said the suspects were convicted of bribery, abuse of power and other crimes.
