Bought 300,000 personal accounts, 'upgraded' and sold for profit of more than 3 billion VND
Lang Son Provincial Police have just busted a case to arrest a group of people illegally buying and selling personal accounts on the Internet to commit property appropriation. They seized 80 mobile phones of various types, 41 computers and many other related exhibits.
Through professional work, the Drug Crime Investigation Department, Lang Son Provincial Police discovered a group of suspects illegally using drugs and showing signs of committing crimes in cyberspace.

Conducting a special investigation, through which, it was investigated and clarified that in and early 2023, Do Duc Loi (born in 1994), Nguyen Dinh Dat (born in 1995), La Truong Long (born in 2000), Lanh Van Chien (born in 1989), Mong Van Hieu (born in 2000), Hoang Hao Quang (born in 2000), Lanh Van Toan (born in 1995) all resided in Lang Son province. The above subjects equipped computers, rented houses, purchased many high-configuration electronic devices and hired many employees with information technology qualifications to commit illegal acts.

The subjects went online to buy bank credit card accounts with international payment functions, Gmail and Facebook accounts for a few thousand to a few tens of thousands of Dong per account.
After purchasing personal accounts, the subjects had employees log into each account to upgrade and top up Tiktok accounts, buy in-game items, and then resell them in closed groups on social networks to make a profit.
To date, the investigation agency has identified the subjects who bought, sold, exchanged, and stored more than 300,000 accounts, illegally profiting more than 3 billion VND.

Searching the suspects' residences, the authorities seized many exhibits, vehicles, and criminal documents. On August 3, the provincial police investigation agency initiated a case, prosecuted the accused, and issued an arrest warrant for 19 suspects for using the telecommunications network to commit property appropriation and illegally collecting, storing, exchanging, buying, selling, and publicizing bank accounts.
