Illegal trading of medical waste

(Baonghean) -On May 4, upon receiving information that some individuals were illegally trading hazardous medical waste at Nghe An Traditional Medicine Hospital, the working group of the Environmental Crime Prevention Police Department of the Provincial Police quickly deployed forces to the scene.

During the ambush, the task force discovered Le Thi Tam, born in 1971, residing in Thai Hoa hamlet, Nghi Thai commune, (Nghi Loc) was collecting and transporting medical waste from the hospital for sale, including used syringes and plastic bottles containing infusion solutions.

According to the investigation agency's inspection report, Le Thi Tam confessed to purchasing 11.5 kg of used plastic syringes from Ms. Nguyen Thi Thu Hoai, a nurse, and 2 other hospital employees. Currently, the authorities are continuing to expand the investigation to clarify the matter.
