The National Super Cup match at Hang Day Stadium on the afternoon of December 29 was worthy of being a high-class match of Vietnamese football, exciting from the beginning to the end with a total of 6 goals scored in the two regular halves. Having to decide the winner by penalty shootout, Than Quang Ninh defeated the home team to win the National Super Cup.

For this behavior, Hanoi Club's deputy coach Van Sy Son was fined 10 million VND by the VFF Disciplinary Board and suspended from duty for 4 matches in V-League 2017.
In a recent press conference, Mr. Nguyen Hai Huong - Head of the VFF Disciplinary Board emphasized that from the 2017 season, the Disciplinary Board will increase the penalties for 3 groups of errors, in which the error of reacting to the referee will be handled very strictly.
