(Baonghean) - These days, people in the communes of Thong Thu, Dong Van, Que Son... of the mountainous district of Que Phong, some carrying rice, some holding knives... invite each other to go up the mountain to set up huts to exploit bamboo and reeds. As Tet is approaching, the season of making incense has come, the demand for incense sticks increases, so the number of people going up the mountain to exploit bamboo and reeds seems to be more crowded.
Bamboo and bamboo are classified as secondary forest products, distributed in many districts such as Tuong Duong, Que Phong, Quy Chau... For people in the highlands, especially in the two communes of Dong Van and Thong Thu (Que Phong), the area of agricultural land is small, along with the relocation of residence to serve the Hua Na hydroelectric project, so, in the short term, exploiting by-products from the forest such as bamboo and bamboo is a good solution for people to have more income to cover the Tet holiday.
