Heavy rain falls across a wide area in Nghe An province.
Over the past 24 hours, Nghe An province experienced rain, moderate rain, and in some places heavy to very heavy rain and thunderstorms. Rainfall measured across the province was generally 10-40mm, with Dừa recording 57.6mm and Vinh 63.2mm within 3 hours.
According to the 9:00 AM news bulletin on September 19th from the Nghe An Provincial Meteorological Station, Nghe An province experienced moderate to heavy rain and thunderstorms throughout the day and night of September 19th. Rainfall across the province was generally 30-60mm, with some areas receiving more than 80mm, such as Truong Vinh ward, Hung Nguyen commune, Kim Lien commune, and Son Lam commune.
During thunderstorms, there is a possibility of tornadoes, lightning, hail, and strong gusts of wind.
Be prepared for heavy rainfall in a short period of time causing flooding in urban areas and low-lying regions; there is a risk of flash floods on small rivers and streams, and landslides on slopes.
From September 20th onwards, heavy rainfall in Nghe An province is expected to gradually decrease.
