On August 17, moderate to heavy rain in Nghe An province caused rivers and streams to rise, causing flooding and localized isolation in some border areas. The Border Guard has deployed many measures to ensure the safety of the people.

In Kim Bang commune (the area passing through Thanh Thuy commune, Thanh Chuong district in the past), prolonged heavy rain caused floodwaters to rise, deeply inundating the spillways and causing traffic jams. In this situation, Thanh Thuy Border Guard Station (Nghe An Provincial Border Guard) coordinated with local authorities to set up checkpoints at deeply flooded areas, posing potential safety risks.

Authorities quickly put up warning signs, put up ropes and assigned officers and soldiers to be on duty 24/7 at flooded areas, while instructing and warning people and vehicles not to move through dangerous areas to prevent unfortunate accidents.

Currently, Nghe An Border Guard units have fully prepared forces and means, ready to respond to complicated developments of floods and rains, ensuring the safety of lives and property for people in border areas./.
