Heavy rain causes a highland school in Nghe An to be flooded for the second time.
(Baonghean.vn) - In Yen Tinh commune (Tuong Duong), heavy and prolonged rain has occurred over the past two days, causing Yen Tinh Secondary School to be flooded for the second time in just one month.
Information from Yen Tinh Ethnic Boarding Secondary School (Tuong Duong) said that at around 9:30 a.m. on August 28, a heavy rain continued, causing a lot of water to flow, causing the school to be flooded for the second time within a month.
At that time, the entire school was flooded, the boarding house, teachers' house, cafeteria, and classrooms were flooded from 30 to 40cm. Faced with that situation, the Board of Directors decided to let students stay home from school and mobilize teachers and students to move and expand furniture to a safe place.

According to the current record (September 29), although the water has receded, the sky is still cloudy and there is a possibility of rain at any time. In order to avoid being passive, the school has asked teachers to be on duty regularly to promptly respond to bad situations that may occur at night.
Boarding students have been informed to pack up their personal belongings and be ready to move to a safe place if it continues to rain. Yen Tinh commune is a flood-prone area, with flash floods occurring frequently, in fact, almost every year at varying degrees of severity.

Yen Tinh Secondary School for Ethnic Minorities is located in a low-lying area, so it often suffers heavy damage, and in September 2018 this was the second time it was flooded. Frequent flooding has greatly affected teaching and learning here. Teachers and students here really want the school to be relocated to a higher, safer place.
This wish is very reasonable, because if it remains at this location, it will not only affect teaching and learning but also the lives of teachers and students here will be threatened at any time.
