Floods have killed 31 people, left 9 missing and injured 20...

According to reports from the provinces of Thua Thien Hue, Da Nang, Quang Nam, Quang Ngai, Binh Dinh, Phu Yen, Khanh Hoa, Ninh Thuan, Kon Tum, Gia Lai, as of November 18, floods have killed 31 people, including 4 in Quang Nam, 9 in Quang Ngai, 16 in Binh Dinh, 1 in Gia Lai, and 1 in Kon Tum. Floods have also left 9 people missing in the provinces of Quang Nam, Quang Ngai, Binh Dinh, Phu Yen, Khanh Hoa, and Gia Lai. In addition, 20 people were injured in this flood.

According to preliminary statistics, this flood caused 225 houses to collapse, fall, and be swept away; 242,190 houses to be flooded; 783 houses to have their roofs blown off or damaged; 1,078 hectares of rice fields to be damaged; 103 hectares of fish, shrimp, and crab ponds to be flooded or damaged; 14 boats to capsize, sink, or have accidents...

According to the Central Steering Committee for Flood and Storm Prevention, as of 6:00 a.m. on November 18, Da Nang had 19 out of 56 communes and wards in the districts of Hoa Vang, Cam Le, and Lien Chieu flooded, of which 30 villages were completely flooded and 35 villages were partially flooded. Currently, the water has receded and there are no more flooded houses. The main traffic routes have been cleared.

In Quang Nam, Dien Ban, Dai Loc, Duy Xuyen districts and Hoi An city were flooded on a large scale. Currently, there are no more flooded houses and main traffic routes have returned to normal.

In Quang Ngai, more than 40 communes in the basins of the rivers: Song Ve, Tra Khuc, Tra Cau, Tra Bong in the districts: Nghia Hanh, Mo Duc, Tu Nghia, Son Tinh, Quang Ngai city, Duc Pho, Binh Son were deeply flooded, many localities were isolated. By 6:00 a.m. on November 18, no more houses were flooded, some inter-village roads in Nghia Hanh district in the lower reaches of the Ve river were still partially flooded, traffic in other areas had returned to normal.

Binh Dinh is still flooded on a large scale. The whole province has over 41 communes/10 districts flooded. Of which, Tuy Phuoc district is flooded 80% of its area. Many communes are cut off and isolated by floodwaters. Heavy rains have caused flash floods in An Dung, An Vinh, An Nghia, An Toan, An Quang communes (An Lao district). The entire Eastern dike system is mostly flooded (42/47km), the average flooding depth is 0.5m, the deepest point is 1m. Currently, floodwaters are still in Tuy Phuoc district; Phu Cat district; and Quy Nhon city. Traffic has returned to normal, but the DT 640 section of Ong Do-Cat Tuyen is still cut off and cannot be used./.
