The highest entrance fee for gifted subjects is 300,000 VND.

The Ministry of Finance and the Ministry of Education and Training have just signed Joint Circular No. 40/2015/TTLT-BTC-BGDDT regulating the collection rates, collection, payment, management and use of exam and admission fees (admission fees).

Accordingly, candidates taking the national high school exam with the purpose of using the exam results for admission to intermediate schools, colleges and universities must pay an exam fee of VND35,000/exam subject and an application fee of VND30,000/application.

Candidates who are eligible for admission or direct admission to universities, colleges and intermediate schools pay a fee of 30,000 VND/application.

Candidates applying for admission to gifted majors or to schools with separate admissions, if the school enrolls students by selection, the fee is 30,000 VND/application. Candidates applying for admission to schools by examination, the exam fee for specialized cultural subjects is 35,000 VND/exam, for gifted subjects is 300,000 VND/application (including all gifted subjects).

Candidates registering for preliminary admission to defense and security schools, in addition to the exam and admission fees as prescribed above, must also pay 50,000 VND/application when registering for preliminary admission.

The Circular also stipulates the registration fee for master's and doctoral training. Specifically, the registration fee is 60,000 VND/candidate/application, the master's exam fee is 120,000 VND/subject, and the doctoral exam fee is 200,000 VND/candidate/application.

Candidates registering to study abroad using the state budget pay an application fee of 200,000 VND/candidate/application.

The Circular takes effect from May 11. However, for applications registered for the exam from April 1, the fee according to this regulation will still be applied./.
