Happy for Van Duc, Xuan Manh feels sorry for Dinh Chau

Emerging from the 2012 National U17 Finals held in Hue City, Bui Dinh Chau is one of the faces that left the most impression on experts and football fans in the country. Bui Dinh Chau's excellent performances not only helped U17 SLNA win the championship in a worthy manner; but also helped the player from Nghi Loc (Nghe An) win the title of "best player of the tournament".
It was thought that the brilliant performance at Tu Do Stadium (Hue) would be a springboard to push Bui Dinh Chau's career to a new height. However, things did not go as expected by everyone and Bui Dinh Chau. Teammates such as Ho Tuan Tai, Hoang Van Khanh, Phan Van Duc, Nguyen Phu Nguyen, Pham Xuan Manh... were promoted to the first team by the SLNA club's leadership to compete in the V.League and the National Cup, while Bui Dinh Chau was still stuck in the U-teams (U19, U21) and played for lower-ranked teams on loan (Phu Yen, Phu Dong FC).

At the recent 2017 National U21 Finals, Bui Dinh Chau was trusted by coach Dinh Van Dung to be given the captain's armband (replacing Pham Xuan Manh who was busy playing in the second leg of the National Cup final against B.Binh Duong). The achievement of U21 SLNA reaching the semi-finals was greatly contributed by the midfielder born in 1996. However, that was not enough for Bui Dinh Chau to catch the eye of the SLNA leadership and coaching board.
Not being promoted to the first team, the 22-year-old midfielder had to move to the South to play for the Second Division team, Ba Ria - Vung Tau. If he plays successfully for Ba Ria - Vung Tau, the opportunity to wear the SLNA first team shirt is not small for Bui Dinh Chau. Hopefully, "the best player of the 2012 National U17 Finals" will prove his talent as he did at Tu Do Stadium (Hue) nearly 6 years ago./.
