Ten days after the Minsk agreement was signed to establish a buffer zone between Ukrainian troops and separatists, the regional government said that around 10 a.m., a rocket hit a bus, killing six people and wounding one. At the same time, a shell hit a school, killing four adults and wounding eight.

Since the first ceasefire agreement was signed on September 5 in Minsk, the number of civilian casualties on October 1 is considered the heaviest. It is known that since September 5 until now, the fighting has caused 68 deaths, including civilians and soldiers.

At the city hospital, bus driver Mikhail, 48, told AFP that there were about 15 passengers on board, along with three or four others waiting at the bus stop when the explosion occurred. As the driver stopped on Poligraficheskaia Street, an explosion occurred at the back of the bus. No one knew what was happening, Mikhail was wounded in the leg and had to be pulled out of the bus by someone.

Vika Stegailo, a victim of the bombing, accused the Ukrainian military of being behind the bombing. She said she was on a bus with her children when it suddenly exploded and she was found on the road. Her friend who was with her died at the same time. Vika Stegailo accused those who carried out this act of inhumanity.

Vadim Juravloc, director of the trauma institute, confirmed that three people were killed in the bus and 25 were injured, eight of them seriously.

Meanwhile, observers from the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) plan to use the neighborhood as a landmark to monitor the ceasefire between the two sides. Currently, the separatists control an area equivalent to about 3% of Ukraine's territory. On Tuesday, NATO announced that despite a significant withdrawal, Russian troops are still with the separatists in Ukraine. The European Union has decided to maintain sanctions against Russia.
